St. Thomas' Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) offers the spiritual and doctrinal formation for those interested in the Catholic faith and for Catholics not fully initiated.
The decision to be baptized, or to enter full communion with the Catholic Church, is the most significant decision someone can make, because it affects every aspect of their life with others, and with Our Lord. Due to the highly personal nature of this process we welcome inquirers on a case-by-case basis.
There is often an RCIA course beginning in September and culminating in the Easter Vigil. However, it is acceptable to be received into the Catholic Church at other times of the year.
If you have some questions about becoming a Catholic, please contact one of the Oratorians at the Rectory, 202-234-1488, or email the parish.
“Those who believe, see; they see with a light that illumines their entire journey, for it comes from the Risen Christ, the morning star which never sets.”
Pope Francis
Lumen Fidei, 1
Come, Holy Ghost, Creator blest,
And in our hearts take up thy rest;
Come with thy grace
and heavenly aid
To fill the hearts which thou has made.
-St. Hrabanus Maurus (9th century)
