“I had the great blessing of growing up in a family in which faith was lived in a simple, practical way. However, it was my paternal grandmother in particular who influenced my journey of faith. She was a woman who explained to us, who talked to us about Jesus, who taught us the Catechism....This is how I received my first Christian proclamation, from this very woman, from my grandmother! This is really beautiful! The first proclamation at home, in the family!”

SERVICE: Taking Care of His Suffering Body

Senior Parishioners

Here at St. Thomas, it is our privilege to offer Christ’s preferential attention to senior parishioners in need of the companionship and assistance of the local community.

Anyone who is suffering prolonged illness or who is homebound due to age or physical limitations can contact the Rectory office at 202-234-1488 for reception of the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, and the Sacrament of the Sick.

Every 4th Saturday and 5th Saturday, a group of volunteers from the Parish, led by our young adults, help deliver meals to IONA Seniors.

Prayer of interior peace

Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you. All things pass. God does not change. Patience achieves everything. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.-St. Teresa of Avila (1515-1582)
